Hideaway is a blues guitar instrumental that has become a standard for countless blues and rock musicians performing today. First recorded in 1960 by Freddie King, the song became an R&B and pop chart hit. Since then, it has been interpreted and recorded by numerous blues and other musicians.

This lesson breaks down this classic song into 12 bar sections. In addition, I have included some rhythm guitar examples that can be played to this type of groove. Freddie King used a thumb pick and fingers. While I don’t use a thumb pick, I have included a chapter on hybrid and fingerpicking.

The chapters of the lesson DVD are:

(1) Bars 1 through 12
(2) Bars 13 through 24
(3) Bars 25 through 36
(4) Bars 37 through 48
(5) Bars 49 through 60
(6) Bars 61 through 72
(7) Bars 73 through 84
(8) Hybrid and fingerpicking
(9) Rhythm guitar

Running time of this lesson is 68 minutes.
