Thank you
Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio were based out of Memphis. The first sessions they recorded were at Pythian Temple in New York City, the second group of sessions were recorded in July of 1956 in Nashville. In those three short months, they recorded what are still regarded today as some the most influential Rockabilly music ever produced.
The Yardbirds, as well as Aerosmith, have recorded rockin’ versions of ‘Train Kept-A-Rollin’. The group that introduced their music to a wider audience during the 80s Rockabilly revival were Stray Cats. They included their version of ‘Your Baby Blue Eyes’ on the ‘Gonna Ball’ LP – ‘Built For Speed’ for us folks here in the States.
These tracks feature the blazing guitar work of Paul Burlison and Grady Martin. Grady Martin appears on the tracks recorded in Nashville. These guitar solos are some of the hottest Rockabilly tracks ever laid down. Paul Burlison lays down a clean, mean and raw sound while Grady Martin adds finesse and melody to the tracks. Take your pick, they’re both cooking with fire!
This lesson program includes 20 solos from 15 of Johnny Burnette and The Rock and Roll Trio’s hottest tracks – COMPLETE SOLOS! Not “licks and tricks” or “in the style of” or “my take on it”, these are complete solos as recorded. You get accurate tablature and 20 different backing tracks!
There is an optional ‘Backing Track Super Pack’ that includes my recorded solo during the first go around of the chord progression, you’ll then take over for the rest of the backing track. This is really helpful if you’re unfamiliar with the track and don’t want to switch back and forth from the lesson to the backing track when practicing. I have included a ‘Watch Me First’ video that will demo this option and how it can help you. If you decide it is something you’d like to purchase, you can still do that after your initial purchase.
Also included in the ‘Backing Track Super Pack’ is a drums only backing track. This is extremely helpful when working out a particular passage or lick. In fact, it’s the only way that I practice and shoot video. I always, without exception, add all other instrumentation after the recording session. This way, I don’t need to start and stop recording. I just let the drums only track run and shoot several takes. When it is time to edit my audio, I find a take that I like and add my instrumentation to that section.
